The reason people book
There’s one night on this trip you’ll describe for years.
It falls on Day 8 — somewhere between a lake with no roads and a room that floats. We’re not going to spoil it here.
See exactly where it lands in the 12 days ↓The main event
Day by day — the part that makes it real.
Twelve days, mapped out almost hour by hour. This is where the trip stops being an idea and starts feeling like yours.
Day 1 · Fly in to Chiang Rai
Chiang Rai 3 nights
White, Blue & Black temples and the far-north tea roads of Mae Salong.
The north’s most surreal corner — dreamlike temples, misty tea ridges, barely any crowds, and your first proper taste of northern Thai food.
Day 1
Arrival in Chiang Rai
Land in Thailand's laid-back northern capital, settle into your town-centre base, and gather for a welcome dinner by the Clock Tower.
Day 2
Temples of Another World
A full day through Chiang Rai's surreal side — the all-white Wat Rong Khun, the cobalt Blue Temple (Wat Rong Suea Ten) and the eerie Baan Dam Black House — plus the Long Neck Karen village, Choui Fong tea plantation, the House of Opium and the Golden Triangle viewpoint, with lunch along the way.
Day 3
Doi Tung & Mae Salong
Up into the far-north mountains — the royal gardens and palace at Doi Tung, then the Yunnanese hill village of Mae Salong for highland tea tasting and a special Yunnanese lunch.
Day 4 · Private Transfers to Chiang Mai
Chiang Mai 2 nights
Free time in Nimman, then Doi Inthanon — the roof of Thailand.
Thailand’s coolest creative city — cafés, massages and the best khao soi you’ll ever eat, plus a day on the country’s highest peak.
Day 4
South to Chiang Mai
A scenic drive to Thailand's creative capital, then a 2.5-hour secret Michelin-guide culinary walking tour through a local market — tasting your way through the north's best street food.
Day 5
Doi Inthanon, Roof of Thailand
A full day on the country's highest peak — the Kew Mae Pan nature trail through cloud forest, the Twin Royal Pagodas and waterfalls, with lunch in the mountains.
Day 6 · Fly to Surat Thani, Then Private Transfer into Khao Sok
Khao Sok 3 nights
Rainforest trek, river tubing and a floating raft house on Cheow Lan Lake.
Sleep on the water inside one of the oldest rainforests on Earth, ringed by limestone cliffs. Sunrise mist over the lake is unforgettable.
Day 6
Into the Rainforest
North to south — a domestic flight and drive into Khao Sok, one of the oldest rainforests on earth. Settle into your jungle lodge, then bamboo-raft or river-canoe through the heart of the rainforest.
Day 7
Jungle, Elephants & Night Safari
A half-day jungle trek with expert local guides, an ethical elephant bathing experience under expert supervision, then after dark a night safari to spot the forest's nocturnal residents.
Day 8
Emerald Cheow Lan Lake
A dawn long-tail boat ride to watch misty mountains rise from the 165 sq km lake and spot endemic birds, sightseeing the "Guilin of Thailand", a visit to Pakarang Cave's stalactites, and evening wildlife watching from the water.
Day 9 · Private Transfers to Phuket
Phuket 3 nights
Similan Islands, the local side of Phuket and one big night to finish.
The crowd-free island most travelers miss — emerald lagoons, hidden sea caves and sunsets behind the karsts.
Day 9
Khao Sok to Phuket
Down to the Andaman coast and into Phuket's quieter south — sunset at Promthep Cape, then dinner in Old Town's Sino-Portuguese backstreets.
Day 10
The Similan Islands
A full-day Similan Islands tour aboard a luxury catamaran — snorkel crystal-clear waters over coral reefs teeming with marine life. Breakfast, lunch and an early evening dinner included.
Day 11
A Local's Phuket, Then the Big Night
The crowd-free south by day — hidden coves, the Big Buddha viewpoint, a back-lane food trail — a free afternoon, then a farewell dinner and one proper last night out.
Day 12
The flight home
One last slow breakfast by the sea, then airport transfers timed to your flight. Twelve days ago, you walked into an airport alone. Look around the departure gate now. The group chat doesn’t end here — the first reunion is usually being planned before the seatbelt sign goes off.

Why this trip exists
One person. One obsession. Getting this exactly right.
I started The Dozen Collective because the trip I wanted didn’t exist — small, genuinely curated, led by someone who actually cares whether you have the time of your life. So I’m building this one the way I’d want it: scouting every stay, planning every transfer, and personally choosing the eleven people you’ll travel with.
I’ll be there the whole way, start to finish. This isn’t a tour I’m selling — it’s twelve days I’m pouring myself into.
— Akshat
Founding departure — be one of the first twelve.
